Change in gait: Following total hip replacement lower back pain may be the result of an alteration in your gait, a change in leg length, new exercise routine or a secondary injury to your back. If it persists let your doctor know. Often some simple changes in exercise, added pt, and/or orthotics can make a difference.

Rehab: Since your hip was only 9 weeks ago, you have certainly placed stresses across your lower back. If your leg was shorter due to arthritis prior to your surgery, it may take some time for your back to adjust to your new leg length. Also, depending upon how long you limited activities due to your hip pre-op, it may take awhile for your body to adjust to your increased activity level.
