A member asked:

Afternoon i am 28 weeks pergant and i have one leg that always gets extremely swollen. and on the left side i've got a hip replacement but doesn't get swollen as the right side. what's the cause of this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Leg swelling: It appears that the veins of the right leg have valvular insufficiency possibly from old damage, phlebitis or genetic factors. A vascular surgeon can evaluate and advise you. Ultrasounds may be recommended for thorough evaluation. Wearing a compression stocking on the right leg may be advised.
