Introspective: Yes, talk therapy is introspective. It allows you to explore thought, emotion, and behavior patterns to see what might be contributing to your misery. Awareness allows you to change what you wish to change, so that you can move towards joy. Antidepressant medications can help manage symptoms; you can eat & exercise healthily, and engage with others. There are tms and ECT where needed too.

Right fit for you?: Things to consider: (a) u make not click w/ the 1st bunch of talk therapists u meet. U may not yet have found a good match for u. (b) it's important to tell the therapist directly about how u're feeling re: therapy -esp. As those feelings are coming up. A therapist well-matched to u will be attuned to ur feelings, respectful of ur needs, & prepared to work in a way & at a pace that works for u.
