Really the same: Suboxone contains naloxone, which is not absorbed to any significant extent, and is there to deter people from injecting the tablets/films, because Naloxone will precipitate withdrawal. Physicians are strongly urged not to prescribe subutex (the product with Buprenorphine alone, and no naloxone) because it has greater potential to be abused. They are equally safe and effective in treatment.

Both: Both are used in clinical practice. Subutex generally for induction and Suboxone for detox and maintenance. Subutex comes in generic formulation and cheaper than suboxone. If patient can't afford Suboxone and no history of IV use, okay to prescribe subutex. Suboxone will be coming out with a generic tablet formulation soon.
