Suboxone is also addictive, but can be slowly diminished in administration over time so that eventual stopping will not be accompanied by severe withdrawal. Strong addiction to a narcotic, with switch to buprenorphine (suboxone) if managed by slow reduction of daily amounts should greatly ease symptoms of withdrawal.
