It Depends: Oral cancer is a concern for all tobacco users at any age. Starting age, amount used and overall health are factors. The bad news is that you will always be at increased risk even after stopping. The good news is the risk decreases greatly as soon as you stop and treatments are very successful if caught early. Regular, 6mo. Dental visits should catch it but tell your dentist to screen for cancer.

Quit smoking: If you are constantly worry about it, then you should first cut down on smoking. It is very hard to stop cold, thus i recommend you to reduce the amount of cigarettes, or switch to lighter dose of nicotine (ultralight or light) in the cigarette. Research have shown that if you smoke 5 or less cigarettes a day, your mouth heals as a nonsmoker.
