A member asked:

Will my endo do anything for low normal tsh (.9) and low normal ft4/ft3 (.8 and 2.5)? i'm highly active and not losing weight. mimic hypo symptoms.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: The normal range is based on large population studies. The normal range for any individual is much more narrow. The TSH is usually the most sensitive indicator. Low TSH is typically associated with high thyroid levels, high TSH with low thyroid levels. The only way to have both low TSH and low thyroid levels is if there is a pituitary problem (rare). Symptoms of low thyroid are very common.
