RLQ ABD PAIN: Many different diseases can cause pain in the right lower quadrant (rlq) of the abdomen including ruptured ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, crohn's disease, kidney stones, irritable bowel disease, diverticulitis, mesenteric adenitis, infarcted appendix epiploicae, gastroenteritis, an inflamed meckel's diverticulum, colon cancer, to name but a few.

Stool: Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix. Sometimes the appendix may have small firm stool ("appendicolith")that can irritate and cause pain mimicking appendicitis i.e.Right lower abdomen , tender to pressure, occasionally nausea. These may go on to full blown appendicitis or just occasionally cause pain. Then there are all the other causes of pain outside the appendix- ovary, etc.
