L4 & l5 disc in my back are compressed. i have had pain for over 6 months in back and 1 leg. dr says will get better on its own, but it hasnt.

Options: Data suggests that surgery may provide early relief of leg pain from herniated disks. Non operative therapy is generally successful as well but can take up to a year. Therapy and injections are also options. Back pain may or may not improve with surgery but leg pain is reduced or eliminated routinely.
