Citalopram: Stopping citalopram suddenly could leave you feeling like you have the flu: tiredness, headaches, body aches and pains, nausea, dizziness, etc. Also anxiety, agitation, irritability, tremor, and shock-like sensations in the head and/or body. If you've been off your medicine for a week and none of this has occurred, consider yourself fortunate. Please talk with your doctor about it.

Withdrawal: Abrupt discontinuation of any ssri or snri can potentially cause withdrawal symptoms. 1/2 life of Celexa (citalopram) is about 35 hours so after 1 week most of it is out of your system. Withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, irritability, headache, nausea, and possibly recurrence of depressive symptoms.
