If i have shoulder and neck pain, could it be a strained/pulled muscle?

A few possibilities: Could be strained muscle or injury, nerve inj., infection, spasm, or vertebral or rib dysfunction.Neck muscles attach to ribs, too, so if a rib is out of whack or refuses to move, the muscle gets tight and painful.A good history & physical exam including an osteopathic hands-on exam might find the cause.Manipulation may help.Other treatments may be necessary-but first you need a proper diagnosis.
