Fibroid operation: Time depends on the surgeon and his or her staff, OR equipment, anatomy/pathology of disease, size of the fibroid/uterus, presence of intra-abdominal lesions such as scar tissue, type of surgery, skill of the surgeon and so forth. It can vary from 1/2hr to 4 +hours. What type of fibroid surgery are you referring to? There are myomectomy (removal of fibroid) vs hysterectomies (removal of uterus) .
