I have a grey vertical line on my pointer finger. as the nail grows, the line is on the new nail . i've had no injury to the nail.

See a dermatologist: If you never had these kind of lines on your nails and you have one now you should see a dermatologist as soon as possible. These lines are usually benign but in rare cases they might signal an abnormal growth at the base of the nail that needs to be treated. The sooner you see the doctor the better.
