CT scan, colonoscopy: Persistent abdominal pain should be evaluated further. Ct scan is very helpful for abdominal pain. "clear residue" after bowel movements suggests increased secretion of mucus that is often found with inflammatory bowel disease, best evaluated with colonoscopy.
