my grandmother had an endoscopy exam. the dr showed us an image of a lump above the esophagus and vocal chords. what could this be? waiting on an e&t.

Biopsy needed: Did you doctor do a biopsy when he did the endoscopy? Your grandmother should have a biopsy done to the lump. Malignancy is something that particularly should be ruled out/ ruled in- in this case. Go to see the ENT , she should get a biopsy to the lump- then will depend on the result- some imaging studies should be done accordingly.
