Cortisone/ surgery: Definitive treatment for external hemorrhoids is surgical removal but most are not bad enough to deserve that. Milder cases often respond to short courses of steroid ointment or suppositories.

Hemmorhoids: Yes there are in office procedures like banding that can be done to manage the disease as well as non surgical behavioral and dietary modifications.
