What is the risk of buscopan in pregnancy?

Class C drug: Teratogenic effects were not observed in animal studies; embryotoxic events were observed in some studies. It crosses the placenta; may cause respiratory depression and/or neonatal hemorrhage when used during pregnancy. Transdermal scopolamine has been used as an adjunct to epidural anesthesia for cesarean delivery without adverse CNS effects on the newborn. Avoid unless clearly indicated.
