A few possibilities: It's unlikely that at this point accidentally ripping the stitches would cause more that slight bleeding and\or pain.You might have what we call a dry socket, where there is a disruption of the normal healing of the wound. It's also possible the socket has become infected, you've reinjured the site or although unlikely, a problem with an adjacent tooth. It would be wise to go back to your dentist.

Possible dry socket: Ripping the stitches could be sore but should not be extreme pain. You need to see your dentist and make sure you don't have a dry socket. A dry socket will not heal on its own.
