It should be ok.: Swelling and bruising, especially the day after your extractions, can be the normal after effect of difficult wisdom teeth extractions. Follow your post op prescriptions by applying ice to reduce swelling. Also take aleve (naproxen) etc. And any rx'd antibiotics to keep your mouth's bacteria count as low as possible to prevent dry sockets. Daily flossing is a must... As soon as possible.

Not uncommon: Swelling and bruising can and often does occur following the surgical removal of a wisdom tooth. Application of ice packs and compression packs immediately after surgery will help minimize the swelling. The swelling should reach its maximum by the third day postoperatively. The loss of a suture on the first day after surgery should not pose a problem. You can check with your dentist/surgeon.
