Yes: I always communicate with a patients OB physician to be sure we are fully aware of any special precautions. The 2nd trimester is the preferred time for treatment of an expectant mom.

Yes: Numbing medicine such as Lidocaine is safe in pregnancy. If you need an antibiotic there are several that are safe also. Such as penicillins and cephalosporins. Wearing a lead apron if you need x-ray is commonly done.
