Node or bone: If it is behind the ear then it is either a lymph node which is usually mobile or a bony protuberance of the skull which will not move. If it is in the front of the ear then a lymph node or salivary tumor. Since you're worried i suggest someone examine it for peace of mind.

Hello. I am a 37 year old woman. A few days ago I found a swollen bump under my skin on my left cheek near my ear. Over the next three days it spread to behind my ear and down my neck.
