Symptoms are typical: The meniscus is in the back of the knee where it typically tears. Sitting or flexing can cause pain.

Meniscal tear: I would visit your local orthopedist and have him/her take a history, physical exam and review of your mri; sounds like you will need a knee arthroscopy sooner than later.

Common: Meniscal tears symptoms: usually pain is present. Swelling. Possibly locking/catching. Can have pain with sitting, arising, twisting. See an orthopedist.
