Conservative care: A torn meniscus will often respond to conservative treatment. Try a neoprene knee sleeve/brace, as well as ice/heat, and relative rest. If symptoms persist, an orthopedist can perform knee injections or surgery.

Be seen: If you have a known meniscal tear and your symptoms are getting worse after your knee "gave out", I would definitely be seen. Your tear may have progressed, and some tears can be repaired before more " damage" is done. I would see an orthopedic surgeon to discuss in detail your options.
