During : During a brazilian butt lift, fat is harvested from any area that you want fat reduction. The most common areas include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), back, and thighs. Women with very little fat available for transfer are often better candidates for silicone gluteal implants. http://www.dassmd.com/brazilian-butt-lift/index.html.

From wherever: We take the fat from wherever you don't want it and put it where you want it. Commonly it is the abdomen, flanks, back and thighs.

Obtaining fat: The fat for a brazilian butt lift can be obtained just about anywhere. I have not found that some areas of fat produce better results than others for this procedure. Most often, i sculpt the torso (abdomen, flanks and lower back) along with the brazilian, to give shapeliness to the areas which will augment the results of mere fat transfer to the buttocks, and also the thighs on occasion.

From mostly anywhere: I've found that the fat from the upper back gives the least desired results.

2+ Areas of the Body: In order to get enough qualified fat, I must liposuction at least two, but preferably three, areas. Common areas liposuctioned include the back (directly above the buttocks), the stomach, and the thighs. It is also important how the fat is liposuctioned, processed, and re-injected, so speak to a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss surgical technique and your specific goals.
