Balanced diet: A diet balanced with adequate and proportional protein, fats and carbohydrates with vitamin and nutrient supplementation (particularly following bypass procedures) is essential to maintaining the results. I generally recommend low glycemic index foods. During the immediate postoperative period i advise increasing protein intake for 6 weeks to allow adequate building blocks for healing tissue.

Exercise and diet: It's always important to watch what you eat and exercise, especially after body contouring surgery. Eating multiple small meals and getting at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per day is a start. Patients who have tummy tucks (witch hazel) may have long lasting weight loss. Persistent weight loss can occur in patients who undergo abdominoplasty because they tend to “feel full” after eating.
