I had a platelet count of 108. my dr. wants to take another test in 6 weeks. should i insist re-test earlier?

Possibly: If you are otherwise health, it is probably ok, but if it had been normal in the past, or unknown, i usually repeat in 1-2 weeks to make sure that it isn't plummeting, or a lab error.
