I have a lump on the top of my shoulder that is roughly around two inches around. it is soft and painless. what could this be?

Depends: Depending on the location, this could be a lipoma or fatty tumor or could represent a ganglion off the ac joint which is more anteriorly based towards end of collarbone. If the mass is enlarging it may be important to have this checked out as soft tissue sarcomas and more aggressive things can be painless at first so would follow this appropriately.
