Yes: The liver can recover with abstinence, particularly if cirrhosis is not present. However, if cirrhosis is present, there may still be mild elevations in the liver enzymes despite abstinence. But the best treatment for your liver is to discontinue all drinking. Elevated enzymes are telling you that the liver is suffering from the alcohol.
