A member asked:

If i can lower my heart rate by 12 bpm within 10 minutes, can i still be considered tachycardic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not sure of question: Tachycardia is defined as a rapid heart rate often defined greater than 100 bpm. Most of the time this is benign and can be a result of fear, tension, exercise, etc. It can be a sign of serious issues as well. Lowering your heart rate by 12 BPM doesn't really tell me what your resting heart rate is. Also how do you lower it. Talk with your doctor - a simple history, exam and ECG will let you know.
