Petechiae?: If the red spots look like tiny drops of blood int he skin, they are petechiae and should be evaluated by a physician. However, red spots can be other things. Cherry angiomata are tiny blood vessel tumors that are slightly raised and a little more purple than fresh blood in color. They are very common and associated with age.
