After i have sclerotherapy, will the veins be gone forever or can they return?

Yes and no: 98% of the veins that are are treated will go away and never come back. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean you will never get another varicose vein as long as you live. Your heredity works against you after treatment and other veins will appear with time. If you could change your heredity, you could control what happens in the future with your veins, but we aren't there yet.

Yes: If treated correctly by atttacking the underlying problem of the superficial veins there should be no recurrance...If your provider does not treat the underlying feeding veins by injecting them, you will rpobably have recurrance.

New veins: The sclerotherapy works well on the vast majority of spider veins. These are gone permanently once treated. The problem is - your body will make brand new spider veins, so there is some ongoing maintenance to do...

Spider Veins Forever: Unfortunately, spider veins are a chronic and recurrent problem. There are ways to keep them under control. I recommend to patients that after the initial treatments which usually take 2 to 3 sessions that they consider returning on a yearly basis for a "touch up". In addition to this, if they have many spiders or rapidly recurring spiders, they should have a venous sono for reflux.

Sclerotherapy: Sclerotherapy will treat the veins you currently have but will not prevent new types of these veins from occurring in the future Women more commonly get spider veins due to hormonal shifts as well as due to weakness of blood vessel walls Increasing isoflavinoids in the diet may be beneficial these can be found in fruits ,mostly citrus, and vegetables Horse chestnut extract also of benefit
