Possibly.: I am not an expert in this by any means, but I do know that women who have "thrombophilias, " the tendency to form blood clots, have a higher risk of pregnancy loss. You must remember that the miscarriage rate for all women is probably somewhere between one-in-three to one-in-five pregnancies. But i would recommend you discuss your lab work with hematologist and/or high-risk OB provider. Good luck.

Probably not: Testing for mthfr genotype is being promoted aggressively by one lab and a few physician-activists. Around half of women in many populations have at least one "abnormal gene." studies are mixed but on general medical principles, it seems unlikely that if blood homocysteine levels are normal that the gene is the problem. Carriers might benefit from extra folate, (folic acid) b6 &/or B12 supplementation.
