Gas and Tachycardia : Gas pressure in the stomach can compress the vagus nerve, which controls heart rate. Also, after eating, you body enters a hyper metabolic digestive state which can speed up heart rate, too. I assume you do not experience racing heart any other time? If you do, you might have an arrhythmia that requires a consult with a cardiologist. You might want to check with your doctor anyway, and adjust diet.
