Clinical diagnosis: Scar tissues can cause structures of thejoint to become contracted, restricting normal motion. Depending on the site of scarring, joint range of motion may be affected. Symptoms experienced as a result of arthrofibrosis of the knee include stiffness, pain, limping, heat, swelling, crepitus, and/or weakness. Clinical diagnosis may also include the use of magnetic resonance imaging

Loss of motion.: Generally speaking, arthrofibrosis will limit the range of motion of a particular joint. Sometimes diagnostic imaging may be helpful in detecting arthrofibrosis as well.
