If ortho okays: Any surgery will produce scar tissue. The key to determine is if the location of the current scar tissue is causing functional impairment. If so surgical removal could help with the use of a prescribed physical therapy and rehabilitation program.

Yes.: You can have scar tissue in the front of the knee. One of the common areas is the fat pad and medial plica region, which are structures in the front of your knee. If diagnosed correctly, surgical excision of scar tissue (arthrofibrosis) is very successful.
