A member asked:

Why do i have a lump under my kneecap that i had for 2+ years. when i bump it, it hurts like crazy i play a lot of sports.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prepatellar Bursitis: This bursa enables the kneecap to move smoothly under the skin. If the bursa becomes inflamed, it fills with fluid and causes swelling at the top of the knee. This condition is called kneecap (prepatellar) bursitis. The symptoms are, pain with activity, rapid swelling on the front of kneecap, tender and warm to the touch. Go and check it out.
