Depends: Most children become more comfortable with their doctor between the ages 2-4 years old. However, this is dependent on the developmental stage and personality of your child and can vary greatly.

Depends on situation: It is common for a baby to realize mom & dad are their best source of comfort by 6-9 mo and stay fixed in separation anxiety until after 2. No person, related or not, will get a warm reception unless they are in babies life on a regular basis. Many relatives will call a kid "spoiled" for this but i consider it smart.The kid knows who they can depend on.Strangers are just that, an unknown contact.
