Timing is everything: Uti dipstick tests are helpful but have serious limitations. Reading the stick at the correct time helps to improve the accuracy of the test, as you have noted. The chemicals causing the color change degrade in time, confusing things. White cells in women can come from the vagina, giving a falsely positive test. Hydrate, consider antibiotics and see your doctor if you develop back pain or fever.
