A member asked:

My mom had her hysterectomy wit uti.but, her urine test report is:rbc:4-6/hpf,wbc:1-2/hpf,epith cells:-6-8/hpf.why does she have rbc in her report?help

A doctor has provided 1 answer

RBCs: anytime there is an infection such as a UTI, rbcs can be present. Has she taken an antibiotics yet? This is due to irritation of the lining of the bladder which can shed rbcs. Did she have a urine culture documenting a bacterial infection?
