A 42-year-old female asked:

I read that orthotics made from stepping on foam box aren't effective in correcting biomechanic problems. i just paid $400?

Correct: Plaster moldings r the best way 2 go.Good molded inserts r more expensive but a reputable orthotics provider will work with u & adjust them so they r right 4 u.
Dr. Arnold Beresh
Podiatry 41 years experience
Untrue: That is absolutely untrue. Whether you use a cast, foam box or scanner, does not matter. It is the person positioning the foot that matters.
Dr. Jeffrey Kass
Podiatry 28 years experience
Although, I don't use the foam box, I agree with Dr. Beresh and would advise the patient to see for themself. You are now the owner of the device......you tell us if it works.....
