Depend on stage?: What is the stage?Any ulceration?Any lymph nodes involved? Where is the site of the melanoma?Any spreading? The treatment and prognosis will depend on the stage of the melanoma. The 5 year survival for localized(confied to primary site)- after curative surgical resection will be above 95 %. However once the regional lymph nodes gets involved-the 5 year survival is 30-62%. Stage IV is 15%.

Breslow thickness?: If you've had your melanoma excised and the breslow thickness was 1.3 mm, then be glad; all other things being equal you've got an 80% of better chance of a cure. All other things aren't equal, and your physicians can tell you the odds -- worth knowing should they offer you adjuvent immune-stimulating treatment to improve your odds slighty.

More information: Survival will depend on the stage of the cancer. You need to know that status of your sentinel node before you can be staged.
