A member asked:

Can a melanoma be one colour one day. then darken dramaticaly in the space of a few hours? or do they change only subtly overtime?

The change usually takes place over days if not longer. You may watch and wait. If the mole doubles in size, becomes irregular in size, shape or color, bleeds, ulcerates or develops a nodule, see a doctor. Wish you good health!

What you are looking at is unlikely to be a melanoma. There can be other pigmented lesions or blood vessel lesions or allergic lesions that can change rapidly. If the lesion is still present, you may wish to have it examined by a doctor or specialist dermatologist.
