A member asked:

Ms work up: elevated wbc in spinal fluid retested sample but ruled not meningitis. waited 6mo retap'd, wbc level decreased still present. what is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not surprising: Active ms does have occasional white cell elevation as a consequence of the inflammation, and this merely represents active disease. That said, are you on a potent medication to suppress all of this. Maybe one of the newer oral agents or tysabri (natalizumab). The standard old standby injectables are not going to do this. See your neurologist and get under control.
