Vision correction: At your age, the best way to get rid of your glasses/contacts would be with lasik. With this procedure it will correct your refractive errors. When and if you decide to go with this procedure, make sure the doctor you go to is an expert and has the latest technology. I encourage you to give it a try, you will be very happy with the results!

LASIK: The only treatment for your --5.0 myopia, other than glasses or contacts, is refractive surgery. Lasik and prk are both excellent refractive laser procedures that can correct your prescription with extreme accuracy. As long as your prescription hasn't changed for 2 years, and your cornea checks out normal, you should be a very good candidate for laser surgery.
