Birth control pills: Hormonal fluctuations occur every month. Vitamins do not help prevent acne; however certain birth control pills do. It is possible you have some hormonal inbalance, but most atients normally flare with their menses.

Acne: Acne is hormonally based and will worsened during times when your hormones are changing- usually during menstrual cycles- there are medications which we use that prevent the next acne bump as long as you use it daily. These medications are very effective and if you're using them for at least 4 weeks, you will not see an acne breakout when you get your next menstrual cycle.

Acne: Acne is hormonally controlled and will appear usually when your menses occur. Vitamins won't help. We use medications that are preventitive and if used daily will prevent the next acne bump. You need to ask your doctor for a prescription.

Probable abscess: If this bump is tender, it probably is an abscess or a boil and will require antibiotics +/- incision and drainage to resolve the problem. Heat will help- like a warm compress x 20-30 minutes 3-4x/day.
