What causes a medial meniscus to be displaced? i had plica removed medial. could that be the cause. this was seen on a mri 4 months after surgery

The meniscus can: Be displaced if it is torn. A plica has nothing to do with the meniscus. A displaced meniscus or tear can be quite painful as it slips in and out of the knee joint with flexion and extension. You will also feel catching, locking and giving out. Your knee can also have an effusion or swelling.

Separate structures.: The meniscus is a separate structure from the plica. The symptoms can be similar. See a sports medicine trained orthopedic surgeon for a proper diagnosis.
