Unfortunately clinical trials for diseases like asthma have not found benefit. Some patients get more nasopharyngitis or urinary tract infections according to the package insert.

No: There really is no such thing as an "immune booster, " other than as a means for supplement manufacturers to get people to buy their supplements. There are immune suppressants such as steroids and chemotherapy drugs, but statins are not among them.
