Hard to say: Could be many things, including herpes. You need to see a doctor to get definitive diagnosis and treatment.

Location of sores?: Im not sure where your sores are (you don't mention the location of the sores in your question) but if you had them for 3 months, you should see a doctor to make sure its not anything bad. Go see your doctor (quick care or urgent care). You may need a referral to a derm doctor. Good luck.
