Tenosynovitis: Usually fluid in tendon sheath means inflammation or tenosynovitis, and causes pain. Various treatments are available to be prescribed by your doctor including rest, restricting activities that caused the problem, splint, applying cold, physical therapy, nonsteroidal inflammatory medications, or even steroid injections into the tendon sheath. I personally have had steroid injections with relief.
