Rest: Tendonitis is treated by relative rest (cease from all activities that give pain), physical therapy, and anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, alleve). Sometimes immobilization is neede in a cast or boot. A cortisone shot if often helpful, but cannot be done in some areas of tendonitis.
